The Board Members provides strategic and financial oversight of OpenDaylight resources and staff.

Chiradeep Vittal

Chiradeep Vittal is Distinguished Engineer in the Networking, Cloud and Service Provider (NCSP)  Group at Citrix Systems. He is a  committer and PMC member in the Apache CloudStack project where he contributes to networking and storage parts of the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS) management system. He was a founding engineer at Cloud.com whose product CloudStack is now Apache CloudStack. ​

Chris Wright

Chris Wright is the Technical Director of SDN at Red Hat.  During his nearly 20 years as a software engineer he has worked in the telecom industry on high availability and distributed systems and in the Linux industry on security and virtualization.  He has been a Linux developer for over a decade, most of that time spent deep in the Linux kernel working on security and virtualization.  He is intrigued by the challenges that cloud computing brings to virtualization and networking, and is now focused on the cloud, KVM and network virtualization.  He lives in sunny Portland, OR where he is happliy hacking on Open vSwitch and OpenStack.

David Meyer

David Meyer is currently CTO and Chief Scientist at Brocade Communications, where he works on future directions for Internet technologies. Prior to joining Brocade, he was a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems, where he also worked as a developer, architect, and visionary on future directions for Internet technologies. He has been a member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) of the the IETF (www.ietf.org) and the chair/co-chair of many working groups. He is also active in the operator community, where he has been a long standing member of the NANOG (www.nanog.org) program committee (and program committee chair from 2008-2011). He is also active in other standards organizations such as ETSI, ATIS, ANSI T1X1, the Open Networking Foundation, and the ITU-T. Mr. Meyer is also currently Director of the Advanced Network Technology Center at the University of Oregon. One of his major projects at the University of Oregon is routeviews (see www.routeviews.org). Prior to joining Cisco, he served as Senior Scientist, Chief Technologist and Director of IP Technology Development at Sprint.

David Ward

As CTO and Chief Architect of Engineering at Cisco Systems, David is responsible for defining strategy and leading research and development of new innovation via tight partnerships with customers and academia. He is known in the industry because of his knowledge and expertise in IP/MPLS routing, high availability, network design, and systems software. He is the Routing Area Director at the IETF and chair of four Working Groups: IS-IS, HIP, BFD and Softwires. Also, he is leading the work on defining a transport profile for MPLS at the ITU-T. He speaks frequently at the North American Network Operators’ Group (NANOG), IETF, IEEE and RIPE conferences and collaborates with several university and private research groups, including Stanford, MIT, Cambridge and Tsinghua University. 

David held the roles software architect for IOS-XR; co-system architect of the CRS-1 multi-terabit router & ASR9000; and co-system architect of several next generation routers, line cards, route processors and service blades for multiple routing products in Cisco’s Service Provider portfolio. 

David served as CTO of Platform Systems Division in Juniper Networks, responsible for the switches, routers and data center products in the portfolio as well as the Operating System (Junos) and ASICs. David was also a Juniper Fellow and Chief Architect working on operating system and next generation routing systems. 

David graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in International Relations, and later received a Ph.D. (ABD) and Master of Science in Forestry from University of Minnesota. 

David has a small vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains and an heirloom tomato farm along the St Croix River in Somerset, Wisconsin. 

Francois LeMarchand

Francois Lemarchand is heading Ericsson SDN product & solutions group. He was previously responsible for strategy in Ericsson IP & EPC product line. Before joining Ericsson Francois headed Consulting Sales Engineering for Redback and held various Product Management and Sales positions at CoSine Communication and Cisco.

Luis Gomez

Luis Gomez is a Principal Test Engineer in the Open Source Software group at Brocade and has led the Integration Group in OpenDaylight since its creation. Previously, he was a Staff Solution Integration Engineer at Ericsson where he spent more than a decade integrating and testing service provider networks including mobile, broadband and transport solutions. Luis has a Master in Telecommunications Engineering -Radio and Transmission- from Polytechnic University of Madrid and he is passionate about the people and the values of the OpenDaylight and broader open source community.

Marc Cohn (Silver Member Board Representative)

Marc Cohn is Senior Vice President for ClearPath Networks, who is leveraging NFV to enable operators to deliver personalized and cost-effective services to the SMB market. Prior to joining ClearPath Networks, Marc served in the Office of CTO at Ciena Agility SDN & NFV Business Unit where he was instrumental to Ciena’s SDN strategy and thought leadership initiatives.

Marc was re-elected the OpenDaylight Board of Directors, and was the first Silver Member Board representative. He also serves as the Market Area Director for the Open Networking Foundation, and is a member of ONF’s senior leadership team. Marc is an advisor to the ETSI NFV ISG, and the editor of the NFV Insider’s Blog on SDxCentral. Marc is a frequent speaker on SDN and NFV, and has organized ONF/SDN Workshops with such leading events as the Open Networking Summit (ONS), Layer123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, and LightReading Big Telecom Events.

Mathieu Lemay

Mathieu Lemay is CEO of Inocybe Technologies, a company funded in 2005, a SDN pioneer and now specializing in Real World OpenDaylight-based deployment solutions, training and services  and CTO of Civimetrix Telecom a company deploying Open Access Networks. Mathieu has more than 20 years of experience in information technology. At the age of 10 he was programming C++, ADA and x86 ASM and then got involved in networking from the early Bulletin Board Systems to the first commodity Internet. He earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Wireless and Optical Telecommunications. Inocybe Technologies is a member of OpenDaylight since June 2013 and Mathieu is currently a committer to the Docs and Reservation projects. After 9 years at being CEO, Mathieu has acquired intensive knowledge business administration. He is also well versed in financial management of IT resources and assets. 

Neela Jacques (OpenDaylight Executive Director)

As OpenDaylight's executive director, Nicolas “Neela” Jacques works with the OpenDaylight community to advance SDN and NFV with a developer-driven open source platform for products and technologies that expand the intelligence, programmability and performance of network infrastructures. He oversees and provides guidance for all aspects of the project, from governance and technology to community and marketing and reports to the OpenDaylight board of directors. Formerly at VMware, Jacques was part of the core team that took virtualization from a niche development and testing product to ubiquitous use. He developed and took to market the company’s software-defined data center vision and strategy including VMware’s vCloud Suite. Jacques also founded and launched VMware's first cloud computing initiative in 2007. Prior to VMware, Jacques was a consultant with Bain & Company. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with High Honors and a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University.

Sarwar Raza

Sarwar Raza is Director of Cloud Networking and Software Defined Networking (SDN) in the Advanced Technology Group at HP Networking. His responsibilities include driving the strategy, development, marketing and sales of HP Networking products and SDN solutions for the Cloud and Enterprise. He also represents HP as the Chair of the North Bound Interfaces (NBI) workgroup in the Open Network Foundation (ONF), and serves on the Board of Directors of the OpenDaylight Project, a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project, focused on open SDN and NFV architectures.

He was previously a Distinguished Architect in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer for Networking at HP, where he provided technical and marketing leadership spanning the areas of cloud networking and orchestration, network and systems management, and unified communications and collaboration to engineering, marketing and sales teams across HP’s product and service businesses.

Sarwar joined HP in 2010 via the acquisition of 3Com Corporation, where, for 10 years he held a variety of senior roles in product management and engineering. Most recently, he led the Product Management team for 3Com’s Unified Communications business line. Prior to this, he served as a software architect on the Voice Engineering team for the VCX product line. His network management expertise includes work on carrier-class management systems for RAS, VOIP and 3G systems that have been deployed by some of the world’s largest service providers. Sarwar also was lead architect for 3Com’s flagship NMS product, Enterprise Management Suite.

Sarwar has a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer science (Phi Beta Kappa) from Clark University, a master’s degree in computer science with a concentration in computer and communications networks from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an executive certificate in management and strategy from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Sarwar is based in Boston, Massachussetts.

Subi Krishnamurthy

Mr. Subi Krishnamurthy currently the CTO for DELL Networking. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Technology at Force10 Networks since 2007. Mr. Subi Krishnamurthy worked on leading edge silicon design for design automation at Zycad, 3D Graphics at Rendition(Micron) and delivered multiple Networking processing chips at Force10 Networks. Mr. Subi Krishnamurthy led the architecture for 3rd generation high density chassis for Force10 Networks. Mr. Subi Krishnamurthy holds multiple patents in 3d Graphics and Networking.

Terry Nakajima

Terry Nakajima is Senior Manager in NEC Corporation of America, leading business strategy and engineering for NEC’s Software defined networking products. As a founding member of NEC ProgrammableFlow product line, he was instrumental in launching the world’s first production ready SDN product in Q2 2011. Prior to ProgrammableFlow, Terry led NEC's strategic corporate alliance for IT platform.  He also has over 10 years of experience in carrier optical network business. Terry holds a Master's degree (Quantum Engineering and Systems) and a Bachelor's degree (Nuclear Engineering), both from the University of Tokyo.

Uri Elzur

Uri Elzur is a director of SDN System Architecture with Intel’s Communications and Storage Infrastructure Group. In this role, Uri is responsible for creating SDN and SDI long term vision, technical strategy, architectures and products for server platforms, working with multiple groups and product divisions.

Uri is a networking specialist with more than 25 years of industry experience and a proven track record of creating innovative product architectures, strategies and intellectual property in Networking, Security and related technologies.

Prior to joining Intel, Uri has held a position of a Sr. Director at Broadcom, managing an architecture team with responsibilities over the company’s NIC architecture and strategy. In that role Uri led multiple innovations in the areas of Virtualization, TCP offload, RDMA, iSER, iSCSI/FCoE and more.

Uri holds many patents, represented his employer in multiple standards organizations and industry consortiums including OpenDayLight, ONF, OpenStack, IETF, IEEE, T.11, DMTF and RDMA Consortium and is the co-author of few RFCs.

Uri holds a BSc EE and MSc EE/CS degrees from the Technion in Haifa, Israel.
